Commercial window film quote checklist and phased installation

Last revised October 26, 2026 · Published by Shore Tint & More, a 3M Authorized Window Film Dealer. Editorial disclosure

What the proposal should include

  • Exact film product(s) and, for security work, the attachment system.
  • Elevation-by-elevation glass survey with pane counts and glass types.
  • Thermal stress/compatibility review for each glass type.
  • Removal of existing film, if any.
  • Access equipment (lifts, scaffolding) and site requirements.
  • Schedule, working hours and occupant protection.
  • Manufacturer and installer warranty terms in writing.
  • Clear exclusions and assumptions.

Phasing that works

  • Phase 1: the zones causing the most complaints (often west or south elevations).
  • Later phases: remaining elevations, decorative work, or security upgrades.
  • Keep the same product across phases for a consistent exterior appearance; confirm availability.
  • Request a mock-up panel before phase 1 for sign-off.

Requesting a quote
