How much does home window tint cost in Delaware?

Last revised October 26, 2026 · Published by Shore Tint & More, a 3M Authorized Window Film Dealer. Editorial disclosure

Why you won't find a flat price here

Online price tables for window tint usually describe car tint or a single easy pane. Homes are different: a project might be three bedroom windows, or forty panes across a sunroom, transoms and a two-story foyer. We deliberately don't publish a per-square-foot number, because any number we invented would be wrong for most Delaware homes.

What we can do is explain the factors, so the estimate you receive makes sense and you can compare quotes fairly.

The main cost factors

  • Film line — basic dyed or metallized films, ceramic films, and premium spectrally selective lines (such as 3M Prestige) differ substantially in material cost.
  • Glass area and pane count — many small divided-lite panes take far more labor per square foot than a few large panes.
  • Access — second-story windows, foyers and sunroom roof glass may need ladders, scaffolding or extra time.
  • Glass type — insulated, Low-E, laminated or tempered glass affects which films are appropriate (see our thermal stress guide).
  • Removal of old film — stripping failed film and adhesive is slow, careful work and is usually priced separately.
  • Furniture, window treatments and prep — clear access shortens install time.

How to compare two quotes

  • Confirm the exact film product name, not just “ceramic” or “3M.”
  • Ask whether a glass survey or thermal stress check was done for each window type.
  • Compare warranty terms in writing — who backs it, what it covers, and what voids it.
  • Check that the count of windows and panes matches on both quotes.

FAQ

Is the cheapest film a bad choice?
Not always. For a single glare problem a basic film may be fine. The risk is choosing a film by price alone without checking glass compatibility and appearance.

Do I pay for an estimate?
